	Walk with a Doc is looking for volunteers this spring. The successful program, which was started in 2005 by Columbus cardiologist Dr. David Sabgir, offers free walking programs in communities around the world led by local doctors, healthcare providers, or medical students.

	PCC Awarded Infant Mortality Grant


	The Physicians CareConnection (PCC) is one of 15 community organizations receiving funding through CelebrateOne’s infant mortality initiative. CelebrateOne recently announced they secured a $3.4 million grant from the Ohio Department of Medicaid to expand the Enhanced Maternal Health Program across Franklin County.

	Annual Celebration


	Our annual celebration in October at the Columbus Museum of Art was our biggest event of the year! We gathered physicians and partners from across our organization to honor those who shaped the organization’s past and to celebrate the next generation leading its future.


	Women in Spanish Wine


	Spain and Portugal were on the menu at the final Women in Medicine "Women in Spanish Wine" event in early December. Open to women physicians and their guests, it was the best attended Women in Medicine event ever!


	A number of dedicated physicians and advocates were honored at the Columbus Medical Association’s annual celebration on October 23, 2025: Eleven 50 Years in Medicine Honorees Physician Advocate Award: Sen. Beth Liston, MD Physicians CareConnection Distinguished Service Award: Francis X. Blais, DO, and Heather Slattery Woods Made for Medicine Impact Award: Reversa Joseph, MD CMA Foundation Marc L. Parnes, MD Service Award: Robert Lowe, MD COTS Mission Champion Award: William Cotton, MD, and Medard Lutmerding, MD The Physicians Leadership Academy alumni in attendance were also recognized, who are among the 204 physicians who have now taken part of the transformational program.

	CMA Board Member Chelsea Mooreland, MD, discussed measles and the MMR vaccine in a news interview in April after local health officials announced a measles outbreak.

	PCC Volunteer Spotlight: Anne Pariser, MD


	Internal medicine physician Dr. Anne Pariser longed for an opportunity to serve others after moving to Columbus from the Washington, DC area earlier this year. She had spent the more than 30 years volunteering at the Arlington Free Clinic in Virginia.


	A Journey Through Spain and Portugal


	The final Women in Medicine gathering of the year brought a rich exploration of Spain and Portugal through wine, food, and connections. The group also gathered donations to help people in the community in need of career support and development.

	The Ohio General Assembly has seen active committee work and new bill introductions in the last two weeks, with significant focus on various healthcare-related issues, including vaccine exemptions, scope of practice, noncompete clauses, and insurance reform.


	Medical Student Spotlight: Nicholas Kudlapur


	Nicholas Kudlapur, a third-year student at OU's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, was honored to be a part of CMA's Annual Celebration in October. As he looks toward his future and some big decisions, he's taking full advantage of every opportunity to build strong relationships and learn from as many physicians as he can.


	Giving Tuesday: A Global Day of Generosity


	As the holiday season approaches, communities across the world will come together for Giving Tuesday on December 2. Giving Tuesday was a simple idea launched in 2012 as a global movement dedicated to generosity, collaboration, and positive change.


	Women in Medicine Hosts Spanish Wine & Tapas Night


	Join us on Monday, December 1st for an unforgettable evening with sommelier Gregory Stokes. He will guide us through a tasting of four Spanish wines from women-owned wineries as we enjoy a variety of Spanish tapas. They are asking for donations of shelf stable pantry items to be dropped off at the community centers hosting the events.
