Celebrating a huge accolade was our top Facebook post of the year! BJ Hicks, MD, was named the 2025 Physician of the Year by the American Heart Association in June. Dr. Hicks is a CMA member, graduate of the Physicians Leadership Academy, and serves on the faculty for Made for Medicine.

Celebration was also the theme on LinkedIn, where our top post congratulated PLA coach, podcast host, and COPC Physician Well-being and Leadership Coach Stephanie Costa, MD. Dr. Costa and COPC were awarded bronze level recognition from the American Medical Association’s Joy in Medicine program!
Our annual celebration in October at the Columbus Museum of Art was our biggest event of the year! We gathered physicians and partners from across our organization to honor those who shaped the organization’s past and to celebrate the next generation leading its future.
Spain and Portugal were on the menu at the final Women in Medicine"Women in Spanish Wine" event in early December. Open to women physicians and their guests, it was the best attended Women in Medicine event ever!

COTS Mission Champion Award: William Cotton, MD, and Medard Lutmerding, MD
The Physicians Leadership Academy alumni in attendance were also recognized, who are among the 204 physicians who have now taken part of the transformational program.
CMA Board Member Chelsea Mooreland, MD, discussed measles and the MMR vaccine in a news interview in April after local health officials announced a measles outbreak.
10TV invited Dr. Mooreland back to take part in their back-to-school series in August, sharing expertise in a number of areas including anxiety, vaccination, and back pack safety.
